Blue Whale game claims student life

Despit being banned in Uttar Pradesh, the game of death Blue Whale claimed the life of a standard VI student at Hamirpur district of Bundelkhand region.

As per reports, ill-fated student Parth Singh (13) was found hanging from the ceiling in Mission compound area of Maudaha area of Hamirpur while his father's mobile on which he was playing 'Blue Whale Challenge' was still running when his family noticed his body around 5 pm on Sunday.

Vikram Singh's only son Parth said in his last post that very soon he would cross the last level of the game. "My win is certain though I would not be alive to see it but still I want to win at any cost," he further posted.

Numbed with gried, the parents said that Parth was supposed to attend a friend's birthday on Sunday evening but he did not go there and continued playing the game despite scolding from them.

Hamirpur police was howevr cautious on the incident saying that they were investigating and hence could not comment whether the death was due to the game or not. "We have found a mobile phone near the student's body and experts were scanning it," the police said.

Meanwhile in Lucknow, top police brass officials were yet to confirm about the suicide due to the game which has reportedly claimed several lives across the globe.

Elsewhere in Bareilly, an Interndiate student contacted the local police seeking help from organizers of `Blue Whale' game. The student from Suresh Nagar area claimed that he crossed two levels and at the third stage, he was instructed to carve a whale on his arm with a blade.

He said that fearing it would hurt, he left the game after which he received messages that if he did not continue the game, get his family would be killed. He revealed that the organizers invited pkayers below 20-years to play and if the age was mentioned above that then the application showed error.

The Bareilly police is now investigating the matter and trying to track down the organziers and nab them.

Earlier last week, DGP Sulkhan Singh had banned the game across the state after reports of suicides in other parts of the country. The step was taken as the Union ministry of Electronics and Information Technology and Union Home ministry directed to the state governments to impose a blanket ban.

The DGP had directed police officers to take action against people promoting the game, create awareness among children and urge parents to keep a watch on their wards' activities.

The online Blue-Whale Challenge game has created a storm in the country in recent times. A player has to complete 50 tasks in 50 days which involve inflicting pain to oneself and ffinally to end one's life. The player has to make a video of all the task and send it to the instructor for getting points.

Th world-wide death toll due to thegame of deathhas braeched the 150 mark and in India too, several children reportedly died playing the game.
